Musical entertainment was provided this year by dedicated Children's Center supporter, and huge Chili Chowder Challenge Crowd Favorite, Terrie Kee and Jeff Noel.
Terrie Kee began her musical path at the age of 10 when she received her first guitar and would perform in church along with her sisters. She comes from a family of musicians: her uncles and her father performed and were close friends with Maine's own recording artist Dick Curlis. Terrie has written and recorded many songs that have had air play on local radio stations in Central and Southern Maine.
Terrie wrote the song "Look at Me" for the Children's Center in Augusta, as well as the "Clubhouse Song" for Kennebec Behavioral Health's Capitol Clubhouse program. She also wrote the song, "What About Me" for the Family Violence Network.
Terrie won the 1995 Country Showdown and went on to perform and open for the Nashville Act at the Skowhegan State Fair. She has been providing entertainment now for the Chili Chowder Challenge for the past 9 years, and is hoping to continue with the tradition as she feels it is one of the most amazing programs out there that truly provides incredible support and educational opportunities for children.
Terrie is also the recipient of the Children's Center's Board of Directors' 2011 Friends of the Center Award.
